LLC RTV considers web-based delivery

The Radio-TV Broadcasting Department at Lake Land College is currently considering taking the products of its students' educational pursuits to the World Wide Web.

The RTV Department currently broadcasts FM radio from the campus -- WLKL 89.9 The Max Alternative. There is no license for a television station, but a web-based design would permit students to "broadcast" a bevy of TV-style productions, as well as audio (podcasts), or any combination of the two.

Learning about the various aspects of audio and/or video production provides a solid foundation for students majoring in RTV Broadcasting, but in today's media market, there is a convergence that is made possible by the delivery system that is the Internet.
Regarding some of the main media, and especially when it comes to news, the cutting edge of online sites for TV, newspapers, print magazine, and radio are rapidly developing their multi-media presence. For instance, some local radio stations are presenting news posts, podcasts and video.

It is entirely possible that newcomers seeking employoment in radio and TV will be more desirable if they have experience not only in multiple skills concerning the field but if they can also apply those skills to web-based delivery systems.
